Re: Need some Website help.

The easiest way is goto Insert @ top at the bottom is "Windows Media Player", click on it. Click on content type - includes video. the next..then my computer..choose the file...next...the appearance I Choose "Status"... then whatever play options you want... then Finish.
This will have the controls at the bottom where they stop and start it.

If you want something on an "Intro Page", where it will play a clip once or something you can loop when the page starts. Do this:

Goto Insert @ top. when it comes out go down to
picture, when it swings out, video is on the bottom. Click on it, Choose your file....open.... it put as small sqaure on the page...don't freak just right click on the square...then choose if you want to loop...then click on the appearance tab...at the bottom where it says "Size" check the box by specify size then uncheck "Keep Aspect Ratio"... then depending on your format you set your size...if your format is 4:3 then in the width enter 400, height enter 300...if it is 16:9 then enter 1600 in width, 900 height... then click ok.

This should work. If you have any more questions that I can help you with e-mail me at mboda@comcast.net

Re: Need some Website help.

Why frontpage? Cause am dangerous with anything else. :o

Re: Need some Website help.

John,
Don't let them discourage you. Frontpage is actually easy to use and works like Microsoft Word. I have tried several of the others, right now I don't have time to take classes to learn to use them. Such as Dreamweaver, GoLive, they are so complicated that I don't have the time to learn them. I am to busy editing. That is why I like frontpage. The KISS rule applies.....Keep It Simple Stupid. (That Reference is to me and no one else, so please don't take offense). :o

Just keep the faith John.

Re: Need some Website help.

Funny enough, frontpage makes your sites LESS simply. Dreamweaver is by far the best program to us for building websites. When you use dreamweavers graphic interface rather than the coding side, it uses very little extra tags on the site than the ones you'd use by simply coding. Not to mention it's ability to show you both at the same time. I use that all the time to monitor how the code is being written while at the sametime using the extremely easy graphic interface that, like you said, is very much like word.

Re: Need some Website help.

OK..Dont be so hard or "I'll have to hunt each of ya down" ;)
Maybe I can get it done and posted this weekend. Ive been real busy lately. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Need some Website help.

Yeah, sorry... don't mean to be so hard on ya. I just really dislike frontpage. My brother who's a computer engineer and who has done extensive web work has told me all of the downsides to using Frontpage. The companies he's worked for have always used Dreamweaver, except for the first one, which he thought was being run quite poorly and hated using frontpage.

Re: Need some Website help.

For most people who are in business for themselves, it is a combination of things that some of choose frontpage. Simply put with all that is needed for dreamweaver, the time to learn it, the other programs that are recommended, the classes that would be needed to take to learn stuff, you are looking near $1000.00 at least for everything needed. I spent a month researching stuff last year, this year I even loaded in the full demo for Dreamweaver and several other Website programs one being Adobe's Go Live. I don't and many others simply don't have the time or want spend the extra money to learn something new when I just need and many other just need a basic website that will allow me to post images and video.
I use yahoo webhosting that costs me $11.95 a month and I get 2gb of space for my website. More than enough and it works perfectly for me.

Dreamweaver is by far a better a program but is overkill for my needs. Adobe Golive is by far a better program, but I don't need all that extra stuff. Some people may need it, but I am not creating a web multimedia experience, I am just giving basic information, simple sample videos to prospective brides and other businesses that I may get as clients to edit for in the future.

Frontpage may be less and simple, but that is all some of us need. It is simply where some of us are and not everyone has time to learn soem of these programs.

Re: Need some Website help.

:S I didn't take any classes to learn dreamweaver... I borrowed a copy from a friend of mine to learn it. Then bought one of my own... I wouldn't trade it for the world... it's built in FTP client is awesome and its just overall interface is much simpler than Frontpage when you give the time to try it out. There's nothing fancy about dreamweaver. It is good for making simple sites and good for making complicated sites. Hell, even notepad is good for making simple sites... frontpage just adds a lot of useless crap to your site that mucks it up...

BTW, you're paying WAYYYY too much for webhosting through yahoo... I pay $6.50 a month and get 2.5 GB of space and 60 GB of bandwidth...
