Need some thoughts from my fellow filmmakers on two 17" monitors.

I'm debating whether to buy a flanders scientific 17" field monitor, or the panasonic 17" field monitor.

When renting a camera / monitor/ lens package, does it matter to you guys if the monior is a flanders? Truth be told they have better color, resolution, and contrast, more video scopes and are even a bit cheaper.

The panasonic is the industry standard.

Thoughts?

Just grab the 17" panasonic- I mean, what rental house do you know that sends out a flanders with a camera rental? Go industry standard! Saves you talk time with renters.

I've owned the Panasonic for several years now but
would replace it with a Flanders today. FSI monitors are loaded with more features and firmware updates. When
I bought the Panny, the embedded sdi audio board was sold as an optional extra! They never upgrade
The firmware.
They are rental house standard issue because they bought them when there was nothing else around and
They have paid for themselves many times over and still make money. How many new Panny monitors have you seen? I think rental houses are slowly replacing their
Inventory with FSI or TV Logic monitors.

I have the 17" Panasonic and have demo'd the Flanders.

The Flanders beats the Panasonic in EVERY way.

In fact I just ordered a Flanders 24" Demo model for my edit/grading suite.

I will get it right after they use them at NAB.
