Need some suggestion about a lighting kit!!!

That's a britek kit. Just do a search in the lighting forum for "britek", there are lots of opinions on both sides.

personally, POS, its a high end home depot work light kit. they get VERY hot, and are not balanced well. of course we cant get the best of all world..... personally, I would suggest something from http://www.fotodiox.com/ I know some people that have had good results at low budget gear from there. look in to floresent lights... cooler, and personally I feel more controlable.

The only low budget kits I have experience with are the lowels. Used a dv pro 55 kit just last week for a corporate interview and was really impressed with the build quality and useability of the included accessories. And the Rifa light - I want one. Actually I want three. The client has a thing about owning equipment and insists on no rentals and that they own all the equipment but we come and shoot. Its a bit of an odd arrangement but it works out just fine. Anyways the lowels are cheaper than arri's but I dont feel like there was a huge quality compromise.

I will second the lowels. A couple of omni lights and a tota flood can do ya good. Their kits inlcude jsut about everything and don't run as expensive as ARRI kits.

I'm all about Mole Richardson and Arri. I have used Lowel lights in the past, but to be honest, most of their lights (not all models) seem too flimsy for my tastes. BUT on the flipside, I do like how light weight they are  which is very useful in certain instances. A 3 fixture Lowel kit hands down will weigh less than a Mole or Arri kit equivelant. But consider this, are you buying for long term? If so, seriously consider putting the purchase off for a while and save more for Mole or Arri. Their kits are life long investments when cared for properly, and you'll be much more happy in the long run when your light doesn't constantly blow away in a small breeze

Just some food for thought!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. After listening to all of you, I'm planning not to buy anything for now and will try to save some money so I can invest in something more worthwhile. Thanks again.

Understand a few things about Lowels
They are made more with photography in mind rather than videography. I have melted Lowells on two occasions. Because they are designed to provide an ambient that a falsh will be added to they aren't designed to be controllable. Fianlly there not very robust, they just don't hold up to well in constant travel on a grip truck. If you can live with these shortcoming then they are an attractive buy.

To me you're making a wise choice, I'd buy used moles, rather then new Lowells.
