Hey everyone, I'm going to be directing a short film on the 15th for a 24 hour film festival about a man who destroys his house trying to kill a cock roach. I need to find a location in which I can do it. Perhaps a condemned house or an evicted one thats set to be demolished. I'm not sure who to go to for this, I tried a demolition company but they said by the time they get their jobs theres really no time until they go to work. What do you think i should do? It needs to be a house that is ok to beat up on the inside.

this is for the apple insomnia fest right? I don't really have any suggestions, you could use one room of wherever you are living and just know that you will need to do a lot of cleaning afterwards and in between. but you could potentially shoot all the scenes you would need in one room, then clean the room, set it up as a different room (say at first it was setup like a living room, now change it to a kitchen) if its supposed to be a run down house then there probably isnt too much inside so you wont have to bring a bunch of stuff in. Thats just the first thought to come to mind. I'll be looking for your enty, I will also be entering, you should look for mine too. I look forward to seeing how you do it though!

Yeah, its the insomnia fest. Thanks, but i think it's going to be hard to film it in one room over and over, because we're gonna be putting holes in walls, breaking glass, catching things on fire, etc. I'm somewhat stumped right now but the idea is too good to let go of

Sounds like you need a complete set design, there are too many liabilities going into a demo home and screwing up your own pad is silly. My only suggestion is complete a faux room or write another script.

Good luck.

yah i was gonna say to do a complete set but it's not really worth it for this fest, plus the time is a factor. I might also suggest a new script or altering the current one.
