Need some help..

Hey guys, I have a quick question..

I'm using a PC, and I'm currently working on a spot for a company in after effects, and they gave me some footage to use but when I drag it into after effects its completely white.. I know windows has some trouble with HDV footage. Is there any way to fix this? I am using adobe premiere pro 1.5 aswell and I read somewhere that premiere supports HDV footage. Is my version just too old? I know I need to upgrade it.. The footage was brought from a mac onto my pc, is that why? Is there a problem coming from FCP to after effects/premiere? I don't know much about FCP. I remember a friend telling me theres a certain HD codec or something that is only usable with FCP. Would that be causing this problem? Any help would be appreciated greatly! thanks!

sorry if this is in the wrong section.. I wasn't sure which to post it in.

Thanks!

What codec is it? The new Final Cut uses the Apple ProRes4:2:2 codec now, so that may be your problem.

The question is can you see it in Adobe Premiere? If so, try rendering it out under a more common codec.

Hey, thanks for replying.

I'm not sure what codec it is.. the client doesnt know much about the footage, they didn't shoot it or edit it. Which doesn't help me much. It does not show up in Premiere either, I'm getting the same thing.. A solid white image.
