Hello friends, I would like your help about this. I'm actually looking for a good video monopod that can support heavy weights. The one from VariZoom (http://www.varizoom.com/product-p/chickenfoot-head.htm) seems to be good, but the price, more than $ 300 for Canada (not including shipping & customs charges) makes it impossible for me to get. So, I was wondering if there was any other way (DIY or any other way) to get of build a good quality one cheaper ? I tryed to buid two of them myself, one using a foldable light stand & the other using a small table tripod, but unfortunately both of them proven to be unpractical of the field during a shooting. So, here I am. I would like to try the Benro one, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea since it's a chinese imitation of a Manfrotto model (which means cheap plastic stuff that can easily be broken and not so solid). Also, It doesn't support heavy weights (13 lbs max acording the company's website). the camera I use is a Panasonic ag-af100a with some accessories that add on it's weight like a LED light with batteries, the lens, the cam's battery, etc. In the end, all of this nearly weights easyly over 18-20 lbs. So, any good recommandations ?

The DIY way on how to build a three legged swivel foot (adapted for the needs) might be good if there is a good tutorial avalaible (aside of the 2 ways I mentioned earlyer).

So any ideas or recommandations ?

Thanks to answer

Have to say Benro actually build quite high quality tripods and its not really imitation as they also build it that you can buy the 3 pegs on the bottom separate to able to adapt to any of their monopods. As you can unscrew the rubber on the bottom to replace it with the pegs as you can buy the lightest monopod to as the pegs or their heaviest or just go for the set that got it.
