Need Some encouragement....

So I'm a dallas filmmaker who has made a few shorts and graduated from film school.

Does anyone else feel as if they are doing all of the work the projects even though there are other people supposed to help you? This girl was supposed to produce a short for me and I ended up taking over because she did nothing. They call themselves filmmakers but I think all they really want is the attention successful ones get. I don't know what to do because I don't know many people who are as dedicated as I am.

Should I just cut my losses and look for other people or stick it out and continue being the one man show (even though they want the screen credit for a job i did).

Let me know

ditch them ... get some people who are really filmmakers. you cant make a film by yoursel, unless you are the only actor, and the camera doesnt move alot..at all. and i doubt thats what your looking to do. there are alot of people out there just dying to have any chance of getting into the industry. you could put an add in the local paper, and have your choice of people to work with. or just find some poeple who you can see it in their eyes and hear it in their voice that they have the drive and skills to get things done in a local film school or group.

Re: Need Some encouragement....

there are many volunteer actors out there, looking to get into the industry. In return, they want a credit for their demo reel.

I had this problem with a partner too, he thought that it was a point and shoot situation and expected a film to be shot, edited and finished in three days.

If someone slowing you down, get rid of them, or look for established actors for cheap or volunteer
