I posted this in the wrong location. I got good advice from a member but I'm looking for more. Here is my situation. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I'm shooting a short (only two actors) with my DVX100A from the Bklyn side of the Bklyn Bridge and will be using the bridge and the illuminated buildings of lower Manhattan financial district as the back ground. it will only be available light.
I am dealing with bridge and building lights in the distance but mostly it's dark night. There are two wonderful old style street lights right there that that give this great yellow light. I will use them to shoot the actors standing under but I'd like to get the background to be seen rather than just darkness.
Are there settings that will allow me to get more than the background lights but also the river and bridge and buildings? I'm just looking to get as much as I can.
Also what about DAY FOR NIGHT? Is there a specific time before sunset that will look like night? I was at this location last week without my camera and got there at 8PM and the sun set at 8:30 by 9PM it was totally dark.
Thanks,
JJ
