Need new Scanner. Advice?

Unfortunately my scanner, an HP Scanjet 6200C, has quit working so I must get another.
I would like to find something equivalent. It was about $300 back in 2000 and has a 9"X12" glass. I have been very happy with it.
I am wanting something that size and not more expensive than it was.
Any recommendations?

EDIT: I use it to scan artwork, photos, drawings, paintings, brochures...mostly graphical/photographical material in addition to occasional forms, contracts, etc.

I've had a bunch of Canon scanners (not their fault, I move around a lot) and I like them. Right now I have the LiDE 110, and it seems great -- USB powered, portable, just fine. $55 in the US right now.

The software that comes with it sucks, but it always does, and hey, it gets the job done. (I ignore the "auto" mode and go straight to "scan in driver", which helps.)
