Hi Guys,

I will arrive in Las Vegas on August the 6th with my friend from europe. He is a rapper and I will help him to make a music video there.

We will rent a nice car (lamborghini maybe) there to make some shots.

Now I am asking me where to shoot. Could you give me some location ideas? I do not have the script yet. I just would like to have some ideas.

And..If you live in Las Vegas and have some equipments (crane, camera, reflektors) and would like to support us in Las Vegas so you are welcome. We could do it together the clip and use for our reference. I could pay you a small budget.

I will bring my equipments from here (7d, lens, rig, monitor).

I can't wait to read your responses :=)

Thank you

Don't know what you are looking for, nor whether you have 'permits' to shoot, etc. so if it is a run and gun deal, some places in Las Vegas may not be 'available'...

Here's an interesting building:

Hi!

thank you for your answer. I have very small equipments and it's gona be a fast deal. I will choose different places and choose after the best shots.

Are you living in Las Vegas?

Interesting Building. But I think there will be 1000s of tourists there :=(

I will have to improvise I know that.

I will try to give my best and try to not have problems with the cops there.

My tip would be to get a permit. It will allow you to spend the time you need to get the good shots, the perfect angles and to allow your mind to be free of worry or concern, so that you may focus on your creative responsibility. Plus, there's nothing more difficult than trying to fly under-the-radar in a Lambo filled with rappers.

Hi,

how to get this permission? I am living in Europe and do'nt know how to do that :=(

Can somebody help? And for the Lambo.. We do not want to drive more than it's allowed of course.

No, I don't live in Las Vegas, just go there frequently enough, as there are many professional conventions there that I attend. The building I referenced, does not have droves of tourists... its sort of off The Strip, or the downtown Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience.

Shooting on The Strip or Fremont Street will almost require a permit, unless you look like you are a bunch of fraternity brothers in town for gambling, drinking, and going to North Las Vegas where you can drink alcohol and watch women take off their clothes at the same time. (You can't do that in the City of Las Vegas... you have to go to a strip bar, buy a $15-20 dollar 'soft drink'... and then get hassled to death by the women want you to pay for a 'private' show... the only way they make real money when there's no alcohol to 'liquify' the patron's assets... but I digress...).

As for film permits and how to get in Las Vegas:

A FAQ on such matters as insurance, and where to file, especially note the Fremont Street Experience. additional requirements.

Permit Application, with instructions:

I don't know what you will be doing, so if your profile is 'minimal', and you need no additional lights, cranes, etc. the operative wording is 'commerical filming'... so, if you are 'just there to to take some happy shots of your friends who just happen to be lip sinking to a boombox's worth of rapping...'... well, take it from there.

But things like 'insurance' are cost items, and if you do have the money, probably setting up a Nevada Corporation, which I think you can do online, and finding an insurance broker to hand the requirements may be a way to go...

This of course may be too much of a hassle for a 'run and gun' type deal...

If you are looking for a 'desert' and 'Las Vegas Street Scene', you could set up for some shots outside of Las Vegas, there are roads that one can see the city 'lights' at night, or evening, where the likelihood of being asked for permits is minimal. Then for the shots in the tourist areas, just look like you're covering a bachelor's party or whatever without any rigs or special equipment...
