I am primarily a still photographer - but have been working on developing a historical documentary film with my own very limited finances - and need feedback urgently on some insurance issues.
I've been using historical sites principally that are privately owned for the most part and have not had to deal with fees or any liability insurance. I will in very near future need to use some locations (couple of days each on non-consecutive dates) which are "county owned" and require the "typical" 1 million liability insurance.Note that I am a "one person crew with camera I own" and no gear, crew, wardrobe, cars, etc. etc. used other than that.I checked with Film Emporium and to get the short term basic coverage for a couple of days would be around $450. It is entirely possible that the need to shoot more public owned locs might increase - so short term coverage multiplied might end up being several thousand dollars. Does anyone have a basic yearly $1 mil liability policy with the absolute bare bones covered - that could relay costs?
