Betacamsp??

I have recently acquired a Sony Betacam BVW-70 videocassette recorder from my business and I know nothing about it other than what I looked up on ebay. I see that they go from $700-$2500. Since I have no use for it, I would be looking to sell it as well. It has no cables but it looks like I could plug it in with a basic 3 prong computer psu cable. I don't want to try that and fry the thing though because of my ignorance. I see on ebay that there is a "bad battery" issue that prevents them from being able to read the hours, I assume that these ebay sellers are as clueless as I am about this thing.
I have 2 ideas, one would be to take it to a local shop that deals with these kind of things, although I don't even know what kind of shop that would be, or
I would be willing to paypal somone some money, like maybe $25 to walk me through testing it. I am mechanically inclined and would feel comfortable taking off the hood and take pictures so an experienced user on here would be able to see if everything appears to be how it should, and tell me what parts go bad and what not, I would paypal the money when it sells.
