I normally shoot with my dvx100 (ntsc), but will soon work on a project with the pal version (the 100E?) Is there anything I should expect? Right now it's still unclear if this will be 24p or not.
hi there,
the main difference is the shooting modes available.
50i and 25p.
i have a pal100 and used an ntsc manual to learn the ropes.
except for the frame rates the manuals, pal and ntsc are very similar.
the other differences appear to be down to the english and american ways of describing things.
(for my money the pal manual explains things a bit better)
No, PAL interlaced runs at 50fps, and european film runs at 25. So it's 50 interlaced or 25 progressive. No 30p. nor 24p. And you will have to use a PAL VCR or the PAL Cam to capture the images afterwards. Other than that is pretty much the same Shutter, Focus, Iris, Zoom, White Balance, screaming producers and AD's, etc...
