Need info on dual mic setup for noisy conditions

I'll be taking delivery of a new DVX100A
in a few days. I'll be using it in VERY noisy conditions on busy city streets.
I'll be doing interviews in situations where a mic for me as well as a highly directional for the subject is essential.
I have a Senn MKE300 which has a mini plug which could be soldered to a XLR plug. Not very elegant.

I'm looking at a depleted bank acct. having bought the 100A.
What would be a good and 'reasonably' priced solution to my needs. High directivity is essential for the subjects and some
directivity for my mike as well (unidirectional lav?) would be useful.

Thanks,
Chuck

One way to do this is the old fashion way. A standup with a handheld mike.

Yeah, a sensible option in many situations, but in my particular situation I want all the mikes to be on the camera.
If you look at the video on
www.homelessimages.com
you will get a better idea of my needs. I did have a dual setup with those videos but will need new equipment to work with the XRL imputs. Please excuse the novice look, but that was my first effort, using a Pana PV-GS400.

Thanks,
Chuck

You have two options for a windy day. 1 - use two booms and mikes with fur and 2- use wireless lavs (with fur). If you are any distance from the subjects, your on-cam mikes will get wind noise.

Any good shotgun mic with wind screen will do.

Most important is to get as close as possible to the object, Do not zoom, Get closer with the camera.

You can get perfect sound in those "Medium Shots" even on very noisy streets.

Also be careful not to overlap the on camera people with your voice, Give them priority.

Great Stuff.

Danny.
