I need a shot of the camera doing circles around my actor that's stable. It has to be from the waist up so I don't think a traditional chest mounted snoricam would work. I don't want it bouncing up and down either. Just a smoth horizontal motion. Similar to Denzel in the first few seconds of Mo' Better Blues trailer:

A gem of a movie if you've never seen it.
Anyways, I'm thinking of a lazy susan type merry-go-round platform that the actor stands on with 2x4's providing a sturdy place to screw the camera on and be pushed by me. (It will travel about the same speed as Denzel does.)
If I could fit a merry-go-round in my basement, it would be fine! Any ideas to making a spinning base? Maybe a wheelbarrel wheel bolted to a piece of plywood? It'd have to be sturdy and strong enough to hold a 150 pound actor and be able to attach 2x4's on and be stable and smooth.
Any ideas are appreciated!
