Need idea for a fitting to make a hot shoe for my camera.

Have you ever come across anything at Menards or Home Depot that will make a hot shoe that I can fit into my HMC-150 camera. That way I can try to make my own microphone shock mount for my Rode NTG-3.
Any ideas to DIY shock mount, thank you.

You can buy a hot shoe to 1/4" screw adapter actually designed for a camera for $2 to $4 dollars, so little cost savings from trying to use something from Home Depot. As to plans for the shock mount itself, do a google search. The first search I did yielded pages of links to plans.
