need help

I need to light a white background and one actor at a time for a medium shot. I do not have open faced lights only fernels with me. I have an Arri 300, 2 650s, 1 1k, and a 1k lowel softbox. Do you think I will be able to evenly light a white background with 2 650s flooded out and crisscrossing?

You've neglected to say what it is you're shooting on and what stop you'd like to shoot but the 650's seem fine. You might want to get some light frames of diffusion to help spread them out.

Best thing to do is put your lights up against a wall and test it. Should take all of 30 minutes, even if you don't have a pure white wall to use for testing.

But I'd guess that you'd be fine with your 650s. Doesn't seem like you need that much coverage. Should be fairly easy to blow out the background and use the softbox for the key on the actor and maybe the 300 for a rim with a reflector for a fill.

Well Im not worried about coverage Im worried about the evenness of coverage. If i had open faced lights id be using them but I only have Fernels. I am afraid of getting hot spots.

You could also just use diffusion to try and even out any hot spot. But I really don't see much of an issue. It's a white wall, you'll probably have to worry about blowing out the wall more so than having enough light.

Thanks for the offer Coddida but we were up in north jersey by NYC anyway. Shoot went good the 2 650s were just enough but the director failed to tell me he had 2 totta lights that made it even better. I will post stills later.
