I recently purchased a Panasonic TM900 that can shoot 60p. I'm mostly using it (at the moment) to shoot my kids soccer games. I like the idea of shooting in 60p because it gives me the option of slowing the footage down and getting good results. That said, I'm trying to determine the best way to convert 60p to 30p, without making it slow mo, for upload to vimeo and other websites. In addition, I'm trying to determine which is the best format to transcode for upload, that does not give me hugh files and will transcode in less than a month (a bit of exaggeration).

This is what I've tried thus far:

- Clipwrap to convert .mts to .mov
- Mega Streamclip: export quicktime (but files were too big)
- Mega Streamclip: export MPEG-4 (much smaller files but take much longer to transcode)

I also have FCP X, but have not used it to transcode.
