Need help with recovering footage

I was on vacation and needed to clear space on my P2 card so instead of log and transfer I dragged the folder to my external. I guess this was supposed to be okay but I accidentally renamed all the folders once I transfered them. I was told that I should've left the folders labeled CONTENTS. Well now they are MXF files and they are locked. I really need to get this footage back. Can anyone please help with a solution? Thanks

I don't have this setup, so I can't tell you the details, but for importing AVCHD, I was able to construct a clone of my original SD device, by matching all file names from the top of the hierarchy down.

So if you have copied the entire hierarchy, and only renamed folders, then reconstruct the hierarchy by renaming, with the 'top' at the root of the disk you are using. What I don't know is if the log/transfer widgetry will 'look' on regular disk drives, or just things that look like external drives that you'd use with the P2 or in my case the SD card.

Sounds like a Mac permission issue.

Select the locked file, right click > Get Info. There's a checkbox for Locked under General. If you can't uncheck it, then go to the bottom and make sure that you are set for both Read and Write. If not, click the lock at the bottom of the window, authenticate, then change the permissions to Read & Write under your name and you should now be able to unlock at the top.
