Hello all. I have a big problem well at least it is for me. I have a film shoot in a abandoned building with no electrical sockets what’s so ever. I need to have lighting for the background detail as well as good lighting for the faces of the actors. Now usually I would use a generator but do to limited space the noise would be too much of an obstacle to mention if people know we are there they will flood the place and our filming is done. My question is there any good lighting kits that take battery power. Any links would be greatly appreciated. I’m looking for cheap ones but ill go the expensive route if I need to. I have used cheap Hong Kong imports led lights which were great for night shots but for some reason it didn’t light it well enough. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my inquiries.

You can go with on cam type battery powered lights which in a limited sense, can be pretty bright. Think about the models that news reporters use.

You can power standard AC lighting with inverters which convert DC, (ususally 12V) to 120VAC. If you need a lot of lights, you will need lots of batteries and probably more than one inverter.

Add up your wattage requirements and then you can start to search for the hardware you will need. How long you need it for will be a key issue when running batteries.

Either option is going to be expensive unless you rent and even a rental might be substantial.

The inverter series Honda generators are pretty quiet, if you can do that, it would sure be easier.
