I have a client that needs a video formatted as such:
QuickTime Media file (*.mov) with tracks:

Video:

AVID Meridien Compressed Codec with settings:

Video Format: PAL (720x576/25fps)

Color Input: RGB

Color levels 601/709

Resolutions: 3:1 Interlaced

Audio:

Format: Uncompressed

Sample Rate: 48 kHz

Sample Size: 16 bit

Channels: 2

Audio must be normalized to 0 Db (PPM Scale) = -18 DbFS Digital video after conversion to analog serial signals must be correspond to EBU Technical Standard N15-1989, EBU Technical Standard N15 Supplement-1990.

I've formatted plenty of different formats but some of this stuff is kinda foreign to me. Seems like this is something that is supposed to be done with Avid. I have a version of avid but am not too familiar with it. I am primarily a Premiere Pro editor. I also have Sorenson Squeeze for various conversion stuff. Can anyone help me out? If this is all just a setting in avid, let me know how to get to it please.

Thanks!

If you have quicktime pro, you can download a codec pack from avid and install it and convert the video to the avid meridian codec, or if you already have avid installed, the codec should also be there.

Then you would open the file that needs to be converted in QT pro, and go to export, and match the settings to the ones your client has requested...

original is ntsc .. some 24p footage in a 29.97 project .. converting to 25fps might get some undesirable results.. plus the resolution is different

If it is all 24fps, it should be very easy to convert to PAL. You can use cinema tools to make your clips run at 25 fps instead of 24 fps (sped up a little bit but not noticeable). Then you can use compressor to convert it (re-scale) it to PAL...
