Need help with AE intro

Sorry, but Ive been recruited to help with my kids school end of year vidoe, and they are looking for a 10sec outro like...

Im AE challenged, but do have AE CS3 (on a PC). They want kids pix flying by then a picture of the school in mosaic. I got the mosaic , pix of school, kid pix, but have no idea where to start not having used AE before.

Any help would be great, ie direct me to a tutorial for complete newbies...I do have Premire Pro CS3 (on a PC) also...

There is a two part tutorial on creative cow (pt. 1, pt. 2) that does this same thing, but using number rather than images flying by.. It might help you get started.

Otherwise another option might be to put all of the images together to form your mosaic in photoshop, then use the shatter effect to break that image apart in AE, apply the Time-Reverse layer effect to it and the pieces will fly together to create the whole. (I think if you turn gravity off you can get it to fly straight toward the screen, but I've not played with it much)


Edit: Sorry didn't read through that linked page. They're telling you to use the card dance effect, which is explained a bit here. However the difference is that here they use a simple gradient for the luminance map and on the page you linked they use fractal noise
