need help with adjustable power supply

Can't figure out what exactly you need help with? Are you saying that you built the circuit but it doesn't work? In what way does it not do what you want? What is the supply voltage? You know that the regulator is NOT made for high currents such as you are asking for. You need to use a current boost circuit to handle your required current.

Have you read this similar discussion?: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-state/41858-current-boost-lm317-prob.html

Still not clear exactly what the problem is? And you didn't answer the question about the raw supply voltage/current, either. If you want help, pleas answer the questions, else the dialog ends.

I built it in several ways, I've been able to get variable up to 24v with 1.8 amps, I need variable up to 24 with at least 3 amps, closer to 5 the better. when i follow the diagrams I found that should work, I actually don't get power flow at all, well when I touch to the pos out, and neg out there is nothing, but when I touch to pos out and neg in I get variable 24v, the neg is stopping at the diodes, I'm not sure whats going on, ive not worked with this many amps before, so i'm just not sure,

Nosya70, do you know where I can get a pcb layout for that?
