Hi,
I was looking for a decent steadycam stabilizer for my Canon XH A1 + SGBlade + lens (and a HD monitor in the near future). I find the Merlin very interesting but it only supports a max of 5lbs. I think my camera along with the accessories should weight about 10lbs (5kgs).
For me, the price of the Merlin is really my limit, I'm not willing to spend the same money on a steadycam as I did on my camera. I've looked for used Steadycam Pilots on ebay but all I get is "buy it now" items priced at $too-much-for-me-to-even-consider.
Anyone knows a decent alternative for what I want? Or maybe a DIY tutorial? The problem with DIY is that I can only find tutorials for lightweight rigs...
