Need help vob to avi transfer

Hey everyone

Can somebody please tell me how to convert a vob file to a avi movie with no compression? Is there any converter that lets you do it without having it on a divx or xvid codec? If so please tell me where to get it or download it (link).

If you have any other technique please share, i just cant ripp the dvd and keep the same dvd quality

Why do you want .avi? No compression means that your .avi would be twenty times bigger than your .vob - but same quality. Because .vob is already heavily compressed MPEG-2 video+audio+subtitles.
Rename .vob to .mpg and thats it. Most players can play .mpg files.
 
This Techinque works rather well, depending on what your going to do with the file, DeMux the DVD directly off the DVD (using dvddecrpter, turn all file splitting off) into a m2v and AC3 files, then load the m2v into VirtualDubMod so the compression to Panasonic DV if that isnt installed grab it from the net Just google, and then use BeSweet to Convert the audio to WAV and correct the drift, if you cut these two files in premiere or any other NLE its like recutting a feature you'll have all the control
