Need Help Please.

I am trying to just import transcoded media into a new FCPX event so that I have all of my footage in one place to work with. The footage is already on my drive so I'm not trying to bring anything else in, but just bring it up in FCPX to edit with. I keep getting a message not enough disk space. I'm really confused because it's all already there I just want it in one event. Does anyone have any suggestions? Where are all the capture scratch settings in FCPX? Is there a limit to how much media you can work with inside one event?

Thanks!

There are no scratch disk settings in FCPX. you select the event folder and drive location for your media when you import. Where are you keeping your transcoded media? You need enough disk space, preferably on an external drive, for transcoded media (proxy or optimized), render files, and optional original media.

For what you want, in the Import window, uncheck all options in the Organizing and Transcoding sections. Turn them all off. Do not copy to the Event folder, to not Optimize, do not create Proxy files.

But more important, none of this may be an issue at all. Do this, cause I have a feeling you have less available drive space than you think. Go to your Desktop. Highlight your drive (do this for all connected drives, in fact), use Command-i to Get Info. What is the "Capacity", and what is the "Available Space" for each drive? Be sure each has at least 15% free space. Here's some info that may help.
