Need help on film reccomendations

Hey fellow DVX users, I'm working on my degree in Digital Filmmaking and we have just started our cinematography course. I requested that our filmography includes movies that were shot on video in addition to those shot on film and the instructor is quite receptive to this suggestion. I would appreciate any reccomendations you would have for films that you know of, shot totally or partially on video, that would provide good examples of the following cinemagraphic principles (our units):

Light and Shadow

Color (I thought November would be good for this one)

Composition

Time and Motion

Thanks all! I appreciate your input and my fellow students will too.

JBurkey-

Where are you studying? I'm in grad school right now at NYU. It's a *****. But a lot of fun. But I cannot wait until I graduate in MAY so I can get my life back. I want so desperately to enter in these DVX contests but I have like ZERO spare time. Hell, I can't even finish my sister's wedding video. Kill me. And, I tell you...in many ways, I learn a lot more from these guys here than in class but it's been a good experience.

By the way, John has sent some really good links. I think he hooked you up nicely. That list outta hold you for a while.

I'm getting a Masters from National University. It's certainly not USC film school, but I'm finding it quite rewarding. I know just what you mean about not having a life! Best of luck to you in your studies at NYU.

Thanks for the lists, John. I was able to scrounge up the DV list myself, but I thought I'd put it out to DVXuser.com for reccomendations. I am hesitant to reccomend any of these films however, or testify to their relevance to our units of study, and regrettably I don't have the time to screen them.

I did reccomend Collateral and November; other than this, I draw a bit of a blank.

any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Jerry
