Need help! Loosing about 1 second of audio at end of my 4 GB clips with the HMC150.

Hello
When I am recording conferences, I turn on my HMC150 and hit record. I will record for about 1 to 2 hours on a Transcend 32GB class 10 card. The HMC150 splits up the video into 4 GB chunks as it is on continues record. At the end of each 4 GB segment, the audio stops about 1 second short of the end of my video. I tried different mics, and no difference. This is a pain, because if there is a speech and I need to splice together to chunks, I loose some important words.
Is there a problem with my camera, or is there a setting I over looked.:Drogar-Kriz(DBG):

As you noted, file size is limited at 4GB due to the FAT32 format. I use Premier CS5 and it stitches the files together seamlessly on import. I'm sure many other NLE systems do also. There is also software available that will do the same thing. I will let others with experience list those.

Hi, I found the answer on creative cow.

You have to import your video files using an editor that understands how to read the meta-data on the SDHC card. Copying the files manually creates the audio gap problem.

I use the Device Explorer feature with Sony Vegas to import all my clips, which automatically builds multiple 4 GB file segments in to one long video file with no audio gaps.

I learned early on that you MUST use a NLE that can read the meta-data from the SDHC card and do a proper import if you want to have long contiguous videos with no audio dropouts.

So for Vegas users it means ALWAYS use DEVICE EXPLORER to import any footage. ( either directly from the camera, which can be slow, or using a SDHC card reader, which is what I use )

Hi, and thanks for the comments. Do you recommend if I shoot just 10 minute clips to use the same import process, or is it ok to cut and past from the SD card to my computer.

thank you
