I have a sony Pd150 dv camera and want a panasonic agsvx100 or 100a and don't have the money for one!!! :'( is there anyway in vegas i can give my pd150 footage to look like it came from a dvx100 or 100a?

Even so, you'll never get it to match DVX footage exactly. There's a necessary loss in quality when you convert 60i to 24p.

Vegas can convert to 24p, but you're starting with footage which is fundamentally different betwen the PD150 and the DVX. It's not just the frame rate or the progressive scan; there's also the cinegamma and cinematrix, which generaly can't be simulated in post.

You CAN convert your footage to 24p and make it generally more film-like, but you won't match the DVX exactly.

i just tried the 24p thing in vegas 4 and i played back the footage and it was skiping? what am i doing wrong? is this right?

when i exported it it was (video for windows,uncompressed, frame rate 24.000,none-progressive. did i do somthing wrong if so give me the right settings for exporting to 24p

Don't get into a bunch -- I'm trying to help.  

There's nothing in that whitepaper which doesn't work in Vegas 4.  There's nothing about 24p that Vegas 5 has that Vegas 4 doesn't.  If you're not finding any 24p templates, then you need to go to the Sony website and download the most recent updates to Vegas 4.

Thanks that did it now for color and looks help me. tonight my town is having a christmas light thing and i will be shoting it.
