Need Help - Import/Timeline

Tomorrow I have to do some crap for some dude from his computer... And he wants me to import footage from DVD's into Vegas and edit into the stuff I'm recording for him... I've never done anything like that... Is it as simple as playing the DVD than ... importing into the timeline?

Also... If I shoot anamorphic (since I can't get the anamorphic adaptor off my DVX) can I put that on the same time line with regular 4:3 footage?

as long as you have a later version of 6.0 you can do it provided there is no copyright protection on the dvd.

The DVD is a DVDr of footage of the guy... He wants to do some type of business proposal or somethin... I dunno... Whatever he wants me to do I'm just gonna do lol...

So I guess it should work fine since there isn't a copyright on the DVD...

Thanks

You will need to import the media by choosing

File- import- DVD camcorder disc

it usually takes some time (of course) for Vegas to read the files and import them, after that edit away!

yes I think you should be safe when importing the dvd that way but personally i've never had any luck with it. (mainly because I think the dvds I tried were copyright protected) however, to be %100 sure i would have him burn the disc as a "data dvd" and not one with a menu and junk. i think you would have better luck and an easier time organizing the clips that way.
