I am head gaffer on a school film project and we are using the new Sony HDV camera. I have no experience lighting for HD. Everything I have read says it is very sensative. We are shooting a classroom scene this upcoming Wednesday and the director wants it to look like a classroom but not drab. The location is entirely lit by Fluorescent overhead lights. The Director wants to use the fluorescent lights as the wash in the room and me to just use a couple lights as fill and focus lights. I was considering gelling all the Fluorescent lights with Half-CTO or Full CTO(Rosco 3408, 3407), but I do not know if the light's vibrations would be picked up extra by the sensativity of the Sony HDV camera. Is this an option worth preparing for or should I just try to emulate the Fluorescent lighting.
