I'm covering a conference this weekend and the guy organizing it wanted recordings of all of the presentations given (its a web developers conference) because they'll be doing a lot of live coding. About a month ago he said that he'll take care of recording the coding. Well, the conference is in 3 days and he has no idea how to capture the coding. It wouldnt be a big issue except that every presenter will be using their own laptop. Whats our best option for getting a recording of what they're doing on their computer?

I would probably install screen recording software on each laptop to record everything the screen shows.

How many laptops are you talking about?

It may be impossible to install screen recording software to each persons laptop. If you could plug in each laptop to a projector, then record the image off the screen, could be a way. Or if you dont have time for that, you could also record the actual laptop screen with a tripod and camera that has the ability to change refresh rates like the xha1 does. That way there will be no flicker.

But that would require at least a camera and tripod for every laptop.

Well, it looks like the organizer has found a dongle that will record what they're doing on to our laptop without having to install any software on the presenter's machine. Thank you all so much for your help.
