Need Hard Drive

[codar22]

What kind of Hard Drives can I use to record straight from my cameras.
I would like something I can use on both cameras
I have a dvx-100b
and a jvc hd100

Could I use something like an ipod or iriver type things ?
Something with its only batterie would be nice, but I do have some maxtor hard drives sitting around that I could use, but I assume I would have to go threw a computer then , and I am trying to get away from that.

any info would help
thanks
