Need creative audio solution

SMuir, excellent suggestion -- but again, it requires the kind of mixer that I don't have and can't afford to buy. Our local rental house has 3 mixers they rent, but their website has very little info about them -- not even model numbers on 2 of them. So I don't know if they'd have the capabilities you describe or not. But I'll look into it. Thanks!

4 outputs are pretty common among entry-level mixers. For example, the beat-up old Eurorack 1604A that I use as a monitoring mixer in my edit suite would just about do the trick. The only thing its missing is a third Aux out, so you'd have to get a bit creative with your speaker output routing. I'm not a big fan of Behringer products, and certainly don't reccomend it for critical recording applications, but it would still get the job done. The price point is pretty good, too (I payed $125 used).

Mackie makes a number of rugged, feature-packed compact analogue mixers which are very popular for music production. For that reason, they're pretty easy to find to rent. Aside from A/V rental houses, most moderately well-equiped pro audio rental houses will be able to set you up. Just be sure to bring along an external tone generator.

I was looking at several mixers in my price range at Sam Ash. When you get some time, go to www.samash.com and see if any of these will do the trick.

Samson MDR624 6 Channel Mixer
Samson MDR6 6 Input 4 Channel Mixer
Samson MDR1064 10 Channel Mixer
Yamaha MG102C 10 Channel Mixer
Peavey PV8 Compact 8 Channel Mixer

Thanks!
