Need compatible adapter to go from Tripod to Steadicam

I'm thinking about getting the Davis & Standford Provista 7518 Tripod w/ FM18 Head. But, before buying, just want ensure cross compatibility between my flycam nano and the tripod. To do this, I was hoping to use a Manfrotto Manfrotto 357 Rapid Connect Adapter and use the included sliding mounting plate 357PL to attach directly to the tripod and leave the adapter connected to my flycam.

Can anybody advise me if this combination will work well?

Not sure about the davis and sanford tripod mix, but what I do for my glidecam is put this on it: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/241139-REG/Manfrotto_577_577_Rapid_Connect_Adapter.html
If the manfrotto adapters fit the davis and sanford tripod, then you can just use your 357pl plate, or buy another one of these rapid connect adapters and attach it to the top of your tripod.

With this combo, I can switch between my glidecam, tripod, and manfrotto fluid monopod.

Yeah that was the general idea. I guess the question is, if the Manfrotto mounting plate 357PL is will work with the Provista 7518 head. Maybe I just have to call a store that sells both to find out.

Yeah, I have no idea on that one. Definitely do some checking around to see if they are compatible. I know that the Manfrotto plates are compatible with some sachtler heads and other brands, but not sure about the d&s.
