I'm looking to start a new project and just purchased the HVX.

I was wondering if there was a really good lavaliere set that you guys would recommend. Anyone really like/dislike the Sennheiser Evolution? Is Shure any good?

Your expertise is needed and really respected. Thanks for your answers!

i do eng and event stuff and i've been using the sennheisers for years. even on short film and television productions as well.

the mic that comes stock with it is not the best and i'd suggest buying a new mic after a couple of gigs.

Yeah, the Senns will get the job done. Don't expect lectrosonics quality out of them but they are a good bang for the buck concidering you can get 4 senn units for the price of one Lectro. If you have AC i like the non-portable receiver that comes with the 112 because you get really really long range. But as mentioned above the mics that come with it aren't very good, you get a ton of cable noise. You'll want to snag some B6's or some COS-11's.

g-2 is really nothing to do with qulity , range and good ound
so it qui depends if you have better bugget , even 10 years lectrosonics or audio ltd have better charackteristics
good for ifb , tc sending and scratch track - really desapointing for hard conditions and sound quality , but as this apoor man board there are 100 which will tell you tey verysutisfid from the piece of **** as never ever worked with somthing better
your money - your desision

you can a bit think it as octava - tere are much better mics which cost 5 times more it doesnt say you cant use these :-)

For the money the Sennheiser G2 is superb.

The weakest bit is the supplied mic. Swap this for an MKE 2-ew if you want better sound.

For RF safety (ie: multi-channel use) the Sennheiser seem better than all the others price for price.

If you need range over everything else (ie: distance at the expense of multi-channel use) then the Audio Ltd. is the one to look at (but these are far more expensive and are about the same price as the Sennheiser 3000 series).
