Need advice on format for preview tape

Hi folks,

My colleagues and I are working on a 5-7 minute preview tape, actually it is a DVD, for a documentary project which was shot with the DVX100a (24pa/anamorphic lens). We are hosting a fund raiser and want to give DVDs of the preview tape to all who attend. I was planning on creating a 23.98 & 16 X 9 timeline but now I'm thinking that the people who will be viewing this DVD won't necessarily have a 16 X 9 television. Should I create two versions (one 16 X 9 and one 4 X 3)? If so do you have any recommendations on what my capture and sequence settings should be? Thanks and I apologize if the message is confusing.

No -- Export in compressor at 24fps and widescreen. If you use DVDSP you can tell it to force the dvd player to letterbox.

Good luck,

Re: Need advice on format for preview tape

Hey thanks for the advice I will do that. Now if only I could get my capture and sequence settings right! I've shot my footage with the DVX100a (24pa), anamorphic lens. My thinking is that my capture preset should be 23.98, anamorphic turned on with pulldown removal selected. Yet, Final Cut does not seem to display in proper format. I'm certain it is my fault I just can't figure out what I've done wrong.
