My son has a DVX and a Sennheiser microphone, and he has requested a boom for Christmas. As a non-filmmaker, I have no idea what to look for or where to look.
Does anyone have any help for the ignorant? I would very much like to get him something good.
Wow, I would love to get something for my DVX that way Too bad it's never been a habbit in our family to ask each other what we'd like to get under christmas tree.
Anyway, depending on how much you want to spend, here are the booms I wouldn't mind getting myself:
(And then there is stuff costing $400+: K-Tek KE-100CC, KE-102CC(R), KE-152CC(R), VDB and Ambient poles)
But, really, if you pick any of the above, your boy will be happy. You don't have to buy from B&H, btw, it's just that it's easy to browse their huge inventory to make choice; then you can get the stuff from w/e place has better price.
The best solution for you is to call Rush at EVS (www.evsonline.com or 800.238.8480) explain your situation and he will get you all set up with exactly what you want. They are an awesome retailer that half this community uses and never has problems with.
We could list kit items for you for three months, analyze the type of shooting that your son is doing, and offer 300 poles between $100-$2000. A simple phone call to Rush will get you all set up.
