I'm looking for a writer to help design an episode from a tv series we're attempting to pitch. Not so much a Tv Pilot, but hopefully with the script we're planning on getting funding to shoot the episode then release it at a few film festivals. Show the stats to Television companies and try to come out with a result.
It would be an hour long episode once a week. So the running time would be between 45-60 minute when you take out the adverts.
The series is called Crisis, based primarily in the UK but sometimes its based in various parts of the world, the main character comes from an American background, New York, Virginia etc.
Crisis is basically an an agency thats just recently started up. It's focused at preventing disasters. From situations as simple from landslides and tornados, to terrorist attacks and war. There's currently 2-3 agencies set up. New York, London & Singapore.
With little funding and resources, 3 weeks after starting out the team in London is already faced with its first crisis. It's mainly action/drama based. We're planning on making it as realistic as possible and try to find true stories that happen
We were hoping to not have this episode as a 'First Episode' style thing, but perhaps at some point throughout the series. Having it grip the audience and making them go through at least 2 emotions, hopefully the 'tear in the eye' & making them tense up as they watch some action.
One possible we had was a simple boeing 747 situation where it needs to make an emergency landing at heathrow, being the busiest airport in the world thats a crisis in itself. Though things start to go out of control.
I want to make it go against the normal sort of rules of tv writing. Not always having a happy or sad ending, not always having the male bad guy and so on.
I'm quite an amateur script writer. I know the basics, have the software, and i also know what sort of direction i want the series to go in. I'm just looking for some help with the writing, adding flesh to the bones i guess. I'm not really looking for someone utterly above my level who's written hundreds of scripts . I'm sort of looking for someone with a fresh mind, very creative, not amateur but just someone who just stands out from the crowd a little in terms of there writing. I'm not being picky or anything i just care for the project a great deal.
In terms of payment, deals, terms and conditions and so on. There's really no profit from the project, at this time. If the script gets totally developed and polished off. We get funding & it gets shot. Then of course there will hopefully be a good dela of profit and publicity gained from it. Then there would be debt to be paid to everyone who was involved.
I'm not sure I can place any more details into this thread, but if anyone knows of how they can help leave a message or contact me via email: the.last.storm@hotmail.co.uk
Thanks
