need a scene for directing class

i need a scene involving at least 2 characters, where each has a conflicting motivation and one needs to "win", or convince the other to go his way.

he suggests it be a scene from an existing film, but can be original.

I can't think of anything good. Any ideas?

Thanks

Mark Medoff's, "stumps". Just read it. There is some gritty stuff in there. You want confilicting motivation, it's all in that play

agh. This is easy. The obvious choice is the initial meeting between Matty and Ned in Lawrene Kasdan's "Body Heat."

Available at drews script orama

thanks for the suggestions!

sry to make this hard, but one more thing, can you guys think of any good scenes that take place or COULD take place outdoors around sunset (or sunrise), maybe on the coast?

My directing instructor told us no lighting (which just about killed me) so I'd like to use the great vistas available to me.

THANKS AGAIN!

it's been a while since I watched the movie HEAT, but if I rememebr correctly, there's a scene between Deniro and Pacino's character at teh end of the movie

there is, but it has little or no dialog and takes place on runway with jets buzzing all around. Very hard to recreate.

The same movie has another scene with the two in a diner where they show a cautious respect for each other. It's a good scene mainly because it's Dinero and Pacino--it's not considered a great scene by most critics.
