Need a Recommendation on a Capture Card

I'm building a new system and need a capture card, other than a Matrox product. Can anyone give some advice. I'm looking for something between $500 - $1000, and close to lossless in quality, if that's possible in this price range.

Thx-
Joe

What are your needs exactly? (composite/SVHS, component, SDI)
and why not Matrox?
Since I rarely have to capture analog media I opted to go with a matrox APVe for external monitor support and not use a capture card at all. When I do need to capture analog video I just hook it through one of the cameras A/V IN, same result minus 1000$

Composite, SVHS

Matrox has shown to be incompatible with the system I'm building:
Dual AMD Opteron 254's
Tyan Thunder K8WE Motherboard

That is a great idea, but... I really want to get away from the wear and tear and my camera, so much so I'm looking to purchase a VTR. My analog capture needs are enough to where I would have to keep my camera connected all the time.

Thanks-
Joe

Joe, the breakout box alone was more than $1K and the RT cards add an additional $1500.

I innitially had this sold but the guys check bounced so its all boxed up and ready to ship. I'd just rather not have to open it up to remove the cards. $850 is still a good deal for just the DVRex RTPro card -- you get the rest for free :)
