Need a question answered please

Before you read the question I want you to know that I have searched on this site and googled the question but without a difinitive answer. (but I did learn useful things along the way).

I'm shooting 24p and when I go to edit in 1.5 is it best to use 2:3:3:2 or ABBCD. I read that people were using 2:3:3:2 for 24pA so does that mean I should use ABBCD? I know this is a noob question but I appreciate any response.
 
In addition to the question above does it really matter what type I use? Do I have to use a specific method for a certain type of output? I plan on putting it in festivals and seeing what happens. What method needs to be used for what type of output? I know these are dumb questions but I would love some help on the matter.
