Here is a link for a new Petrol product. It seems to have replaced the Petrol Light Case 4 which I own and was a GREAT case for about $200. This new one is a bit more, and BH doesn't have any photos of the interior, see the Petrol link. The new case seems to lack the exterior tripod accessory straps, but otherwise seems about the same.
I'll vouch for petrol for sure! I have the previous model as well and don't for the life of me understand why they changed their designs! The older one expands a little, and can piggy back a tripod case which I substitute with a light stand case. I can fit three fresnals, lots of stingers and bullets and gels and blackwrap and grip stuff and tons of practicals, little flos it gets really heavy. If not much else has changed, their build is great as well! The ARRI or Mole hard cases with butterfly snaps are great but a little pricy, you could've picked up one of the petrol cases for around 200. Might be worth looking around for one. The new one just doesn't look as beefy. The other one had handles everywhere and corner guards and little bumpers for when you slid it down stairs or had to put it down because you over filled it with gear. I guess it depends on what you plan on carrying if it's three litepanels then have at it. I like to pack these things as much as possible so I could unload in fewer trips to the car.
Thanks for fleshing that out Deniz, you are 110% correct. When I bought mine for $200, I was amazed at how good it was. Maybe Petrol had to cheap it out to make some money. The exterior straps were really nice and the wheels are built in, no dolly required.
Grant, did you also buy from B&H? I was almost expecting them to email me saying the price was a typo because everything else in that range was triple the price! I agree they most likely cheaped out, what a shame!
