Need a good tripod

Just received Libec LS22M2A tripod. I am disappointed. I read an article about the Libec LS38 saying it was superior to a Monfrotto twice its price. The salesman who sold me the Libec suggested I bought the the LS22 instead of the 38 saying the 38 was 'overkill' for the Panasonic HVX 200. It is not steady enough, the legs are a bit shaky etc... What should I buy. Lots of choice out there?
 
Depends On how much you want to spend. Satchler, Cartoni, Etc. Very pricey but worth every penny. They will outlast your camera for sure. B&H photo video has a great selection.
 
That salesperson was an ass....

The LS38 is the one that you should have gone for - the LS22 isn't even in the same league!! It's prosumer-level, not professional.

Send your LS22 back - it's not right for your needs
 
Some say it's "underkill" but I've been very satisfied with my $1300 Cartoni Focus 101. I think it represents a very good price/performance point.
 
I will return the Libec LS22 and already ordered the Libec LS38. Lots of things to buy and heard very good comments and reviews on the LS38.
