Need a good camera for under 2500$

I know there are a TON of threads asking for advice on cameras. But new things are always being discovered and new cameras are always coming out. So right now I'm looking for a camera that is under 2500$. Any suggestions?

Preferably new, but I'm open to getting used.

I will be using it for short films and maybe a feature film.

Is the camera what you need under $2500, or everything? A $1000 camera with $1500 in stabilization, lighting and maybe audio (depending on if you have a sound guy) is going to do a lot more good than a $2500 camera.

Unfortunately, that's right in the middle between consumer and prosumer, so I don't personally have a suggestion at that level. Only a lot less and higher.

how about an XH-A1..u can get that for about the price u want (older version). not the xha1s.

a new canon xh-a1 is still $3199 last I checked. word on the street is that in a couple months the price of the canon xh-a1s will drop about $400 and if that happens, there's no way the xh-a1 would remain $3199.
