Need a feature length screenplay

Well, if it had been a script already written, I probably would've taken the chance. But it was an idea that we were going to have to develop into a script. That's a whole different ballgame, from our perspective.

Sorry thought it was a complete script. Have a written a few from ground up for no money/fees, under the promise they will be made. But alas, it seems a lot of people want to be film makers, but very few actually are.

But develop the idea, as you already know it grabbed interest - got further than most of us:thumbup:

Oh we'll definitely be developing the idea. It's rock solid. But we have a couple of other paying projects we have to get out of the way first.

The biggest thing that stops people from being filmmakers is money. I was naive when I got into the business. I thought if I had a great script and people interested in being involved -- both in front of and behind the camera -- then I'd have no trouble finding investors. Learned that lesson the hard way. :)

Right now I'm trying to think outside the box -- come up with feature projects that can be done well on a shoestring. 'Tangled Web' is a good example -- our budget was $1000, and we've managed to stick to that. Almost through post now. Fingers crossed.

Wow good for you. Amazing to keep it that low.

Would love to see the concept for the new idea (just to learn) - when you get it started/registered.

Now I DO have a finished screenplay for a suspense/drama feature called 'The Circle' that could be shot entirely in 2-3 days. Generally a short shooting schedule means a small budget. However, this one is equipment-heavy. It requires 9 camcorders (consumer level cheapo MiniDVs would do just fine), 9 mics, 9 tripods, 9 mic stands, and 9 light sets (clamp lights would work.)

It requires building 9 very tiny sets, all arranged in a circle inside of a large room.

The movie consists of only 3 scenes -- each scene is done in real-time. All cameras and mics are locked down, so no setups/breakdowns. No lighting changes. Scene 1 has 2 characters. Scene 2 has 9 on-screen principals, 2 voiceovers, and a couple of small roles (on-screen). Scene 3 has 9 on-screen principals -- all of them the same as previous scenes.

In many ways it would be an extremely simple shoot. But the equipment requirements are the main issue. A creative person could purchase 9 cameras, mics, tripods (cheap ones), and mics stands, then shoot the movie, then sell the gear -- which would still be nearly new -- and recover most of their investment back.

It's a great script and story. Hollywood icon Lana Wood called it 'a near perfect script'. Although it has no real potential for theatrical release, it should do VERY well as direct-to-video. Profit potential should be quite high.

If I could find the assets, I'd shoot the thing myself. If anyone else is interested, the script is for sale.

Interesting concept, what is the synopsis for that one if you dont mind sharing?

I would be curious to see how it turned out.

The script is fully registered, so I don't mind at all.

A group of 9 people -- from all over the U.S. -- meet online regularly in an Internet video chat room. They think they know each other very well. But when one member of the group is suddenly attacked, stabbed, and left for dead (just off-cam), the others quickly realize that they don't really know her -- or each other -- at all. So it's a race against time to try and find the injured girl and send help before she bleeds to death!

Thanks! Got 9 camcorders I can borrow? :)

(Actually, I already own 3 cams -- just need 6 more. And mics. And..............)

More updates:

Yeah, Chapegrovefilms team had this great original idea that I was itching to do, the only problem was that they needed a 3k deposit to continue writing, which is understandable, that shows commitment from the producers. I did not have the deposit money in pocket so I told the figures to the investor, and he said he would only drop after getting a solid script. So I was stuck as far as that, and no arrangement could be made.

Unfortunately that happens sometimes, and I hope to produce that script when this one gets sold.

Concerning the script I have acquired and will produce:

It is a thriller that almost borders on horror, which is great.

A complex female character that oscillates between quintessential fem and sociopath, struggles to come to terms with intimacy after a brutal gang rape that left her for dead. Owner of a junkyard with a compactor, Tuesday Dalton has vowed to kill the leader of the gang. Keeping just under the radar of the police, Tuesday hones her killing skills on a few piggish men that visit the junkyard. Once they are killed and crushed in their cars, they are sent off to the smelter. The perfect crime.

Tuesday’s only friend and her only intimacy is with her dog Boo. When she meets a rambling musician, she feels she might be able to love again, and now must nurture her thirst for romance, and quench her thirst to kill.

At first glance when it was pitched to me I ignored the idea.
"Just another revenge movie" I thought
But then more about the character was explained, and I fell in love with the idea, and begged to see the entire script after 10 pages were sent.

More and more info:

One the process of judging
After I posted this thread, I was flooded with many completed scripts, and pitched many ideas by people from this thread.

I also requested more info on screenplays I found browsing online.

If i can remember well, the first words that made me just completely skip reading a synposis were:

FBI
Trained hitman
serial killer

Some about conspiracies caught my eye, as they seemed well constructed, but involved bridges blowing up completely from the first page, which is impossible for a 250k budget

split personalities caught my eye
cubicle worker's extortion plans going wrong caught my interest

if you guys want to know more just let me know

A lot of script I read the first 5 pages, if it didn't start with a bang, or something very interesting that causes interest, it was usually skipped

It's funny.
Your movie might be really kick ass
It's just the one-liner that you summarize it with the deal breaker, the same way the trailer either gets people to watch the movie or not.

Glad you found your script Charlie.

Wish i would have had some completed stuff that fit what you were looking for to submit.

Sounds like you found a project you really believe in which is the most important thing.

It is all about knowing what you want and then going to get it, like you mentioned some of the scripts and ideas that were submitted to you could turn into great scripts, but they weren't what you were looking for.

I hope you keep us updated on the production of this project i would be curious to see how it all turns out.
