nd switching knob? or switching piece?

My Nd switch broke, well the plastic that covers the inside of the camera is broken off. If the ND is off, meaning that the filter switch is set to off, The plastic that normally covers everything above the "switch" is gone. I'm in the process of getting this fixed, but does anyone know the definition of this piece? ND switching knob, or switching piece?

Did you say this was on a 100a? My ND switch backplate simply disappeared into the camera one day - the switch itself still functioned. Fixed under warranty if I remember correctly. Although the parts were literally pennies, the authorized service center charged a hefty sum in labor back to Panasonic.

Part #s were:

VGQ7175 ND SWITCH SHEET
VGQ6894 ND SWITCHING KNOB

yeah i've got it in the shop now, the labour they said will take 90 minutes so they say, so 200 buck for a simple problem. It makes me want to learn a bit myself so i can fix problems on my own and not pay ridiculous amounts to these people. I'm sure Jarred and Barry do it themselves, does Dvxuser offer a workshop on ripping your camera apart for dummies? haha!

I just had the same problem. Where do you send if you do not have a current warranty? The camera is located in Baltimore, Maryland. Please get back to me as soon as possible. I would like to get the problem fixed as fast as I can. I work a lot outside with the camera and I would like the interior of the camera not to be exposed! Thanks!
