ND filters

I have two questions -

#1 - If I am filming in very bright situations is it better to use nuetral density lens filters to bring the light down, or is it better to use the in camera ND filter.

#2 - I have a shot in a room in an upcoming shoot, I would like to blow the natural light coming throug the windows out alot, but I dont want to use any of the gain settings, I have tested the shot with a shutter of about 1/24" and the aperature open all the way - but I need it to be blown out more, is there anything I can do or use?

#1 - Both are good and you can use them together.

#2 - Either you bring more light from outside and diffuse it with white diffuser in the window or you bring down the inside light.

cool, thank for the input, but is there any differences in lens ND filters and the in camera ND filter?, better contrast? better picture?

so basically, there is no quality difference in aftermarket filters, and in-cam filters, exceptmore control in nuetral density percentage............sounds logical, thanks guys
