Naza Crash

Rather annoyed at another Naza crash, alas DJI don't include telemetry as standard, you have to buy the iOSD MkII to get that (which in the UK is almost as expensive as the Naza itself, so is not a common upgrade to have), so we lost another copter today, this is at least our third now, with no logs to investigate the cause. This is the frustration of using the latest firmware too, like you're a free beta tester.

Sorry to hear about the crash, it's a frustrating business!

Was the GPS strong on take off?

One of the reasons we got the iOSD was to track GPS while in the air, it can be hard to see with just lights alone. If it starts looking weak, we land.

On this copter it's a Taranis Tx and we've telemetry on it so thankfully it's helped us find the cause it was a problem with one of the batteries as the voltage dropped off suddenly hence the crash. So the Naza is blameless for this one, it does highlight though how useful telemetry is for problem solving.

The Tx is set with an audio warning for low voltage and the voltage would have been on screen as well so it must have dropped so fast that it was not spotted.

Yea, that's pretty crazy.

Just one of the perils of working in an industry that is so new and without much standardisation though.

If/when we get the Droidworx/AV130 playing nicely with the Blackmagic, we will be heading up to yorkshire for some shots if you ever fancy coming for a hover with us.

Definitely, let us know when. I've got a gimbal working with the GoPro with a Letus AnamorphX, so I'm fairly excited to have a go with that soon.
