I have black magic cinema 2.5k rig and I am getting in to cinematography as hobby I have few yashica ml lenses 23,24,50 am looking for wide angle lenses because of crop factor I was looking at laowa 7.5mm or just going with speed booster EF and selling my yashica lenses and getting some zeiss lenses like 24mm and 35 mm any suggestions here

Thanks guys

Personally I'd recommend you go with EF lenses and a speed booster if you're looking to combat the crop factor.

But more importantly, buying EF mount lenses will give you a larger road map moving forward. MFT lenses are only good for...well, MFT.

So if you're ever considering moving into a larger format, EF will give you more options down the road.

Back in the day, 12 years ago, many of us bought the MFT 2.5K because we loved the idea of keeping the camera small and Panasonic and Olympus had really great glass (especially for some of those lower prices, a couple of hundred).

And probably all of us ended up selling the camera and the lenses just to get the EF version again or one of the newer larger sensor cameras (BMPC at that time).

So, yeah, MFT lenses are fine but think about what's down the road, if anything.

The Tokina 11-16 is a classic for sure. You can't really go wrong with that one if you're on a Super35 format, or in your case just looking to step up from MFT as well.

If you think you'll ever want to go full frame at some point though, then you may consider a full frame wide angle.
